Dad came over a little late today...........but he still has a lot of good stuff to say
He's still an Obama guy..........him and me and my whole family were Hillary Clinton supporters (I was a John Edwards supporter before he dropped out), but we now know that she has no chance of winning, and we wish she would suck it up and go home. Hillary, I love you, I'm the same age as you (almost) and I feel your pain, but GET OVER IT already. This Obama guy has stolen your thunder, and he's GOOD. He will be an excellent President and if you ruin the Democratic Party's chance to take it back from these bastards, then you're just as responsible as them for the havoc they have wreaked, with war, financial markets, working class folks, innocents in Iraq, and EVERYTHING.
oK.......deep breath........rant over. Seriously, if the Democrats blow this...........following the Worst President EVER in our history.........and still manage to pull defeat out of the well...............well, I dunno.
My Dad said this morning.......(he watches TV more than I do) that apparently Bill Clinton said that Obama was the same as Joe McCarthy. OMFG. He shook his head, said "he's losing it...........I used to think he was savvy, but he's losing it". And I agree. What kind of remark is that?
Bill Clinton is not helping his wife's campaign...........and maybe it's time to let go. I never thought I'd say this, but I really think that for the good of the Democratic Party, Hillary needs to drop out. And I feel her pain. She thought it was her time. And so did I. But this young upstart Obama came along and stole her thunder.
I have not always been a fan of Obama. I thought his Jesse Jackson/Martin Luther Kingesque speeches were kind of bogus. I don't want to be INSPIRED. I want some real-world, not-inspiring, SOLUTIONS And some real-word promises which are on record.
His last two speeches have supplied me with that. They were much more thoughtful and practical than his previous ones. The pragmatic guy, not the rock star.
Happy Easter/Solstice/Spring to everybody. We have 5 inches of snow on the ground here, but I think it will melt soon. At least the hours of daylight are longer. :) Cheers.
